Assistant Area Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Area Supervisor to support ongoing large-scale manufacturing equipment installation projects in De Soto, Kansas. This position will assist the Area Supervisor and Area Manager with on-site management, coordination with subcontractors, safety, quality control, and progress tracking to ensure smooth execution of equipment installation.

Responsibilities

• Support Area Supervisor and Area Manager with on-site management tasks
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors and on-site workers
• Monitor progress and manage schedules for equipment installation
• Prepare daily reports, progress reports, and other documentation
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Oversee on-site quality control and inspections
• Assist with site startup and project handover at completion
• Conduct safety management activities in accordance with OSHA standards
• Participate in regular meetings and maintain communication with stakeholders
• Support budget, schedule, and progress management
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and equipment manufacturers

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred)
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in factory construction, equipment installation, or manufacturing projects
• Experience managing subcontractors or on-site operations
• Knowledge of industrial equipment installation or construction projects
• Understanding of schedule and budget management
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
• Strong coordination and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a project environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience preparing daily reports and progress documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with factory construction or manufacturing equipment projects
• Hands-on experience with mechanical or electrical equipment installation
• Experience collaborating with Japanese companies or vendors
• Japanese language skills
• Experience with production equipment installation projects

Schedule

• Full-time, on-site role in De Soto, Kansas
• Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be required based on project needs
• Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on-site
• Potential for future relocation to projects in other states

Pay

USD 85,000 – 90,000 per year
