About the role
As an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Writing for Screen and Television – Comedy, you will join the esteemed John Wells Division within the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Your primary responsibility will be to teach workshops in comedy writing, focusing on developing quality storytellers and fostering unique perspectives. You will also mentor emerging writers and collaborate in professional writers' rooms.Responsibilities
- Teach workshops in comedy writing

Requirements
- Professional television writing experience at the level of Staff Writer or higher on a network, cable, or major streaming comedy show
- Demonstrated experience writing produced comedy across multiple formats, including scripted sitcoms, late-night television, sketch comedy, monologues, and stand-up comedy
- Experience mentoring emerging writers and collaborating in professional writers' room environments is desirable
Qualifications
- Minimum education: Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Preferred education: Master of Fine Arts or Master of Arts degree from an accredited institution
Skills
- Strong writing skills in comedy genres
- Experience in collaborative writing environments
- Ability to inspire and mentor students
