About the role

The University of Northern Iowa's Department of History seeks applications for a temporary Assistant Adjunct Professor of Applied Ethics, starting in August 2026. This position will teach four in-person courses including two sections of “Ethics in the Age of A.I.” and two sections of “Ethics for Professional Life,” both courses in UNI’s general education program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach four in-person courses including two sections of “Ethics in the Age of A.I.” and two sections of “Ethics for Professional Life.”
  • Share the department's commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or ABD in either Philosophy or Religious Studies required.
  • Ability to teach courses in Applied Ethics, and experience teaching face-to-face courses required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of successful face-to-face teaching experience at the undergraduate level preferred.
