About the role

TEG helps organizations in the Gulf South build trust, shape conversations, and move communities forward. We are seeking an Assistant Account Executive (AAE) who is curious, organized, creative, and eager to grow in a dynamic public relations environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with media relations outreach and pitching stories to local, regional, and national media
  • Drafting press releases, media advisories, talking points, social media content, and other communications materials
  • Supporting the planning and execution of events, announcements, and community initiatives
  • Monitoring news, trends, and conversations relevant to clients and industries
  • Conducting research on clients, competitors, media outlets, and public issues
  • Preparing meeting agendas, notes, status reports, and activity summaries
  • Coordinating logistics with vendors, partners, and stakeholders
  • Supporting account teams with organization, scheduling, and project management
  • Helping build relationships with reporters, influencers, and community contacts
  • Contributing creative ideas and communications strategies for client campaigns

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field
  • At least one year of professional experience in PR, communications, marketing, or a related field (agency experience is a plus)
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management abilities
  • An attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • A strong understanding of social media and digital communications
  • A curiosity about current events, business, culture, and the Gulf South region
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team
  • A professionalism in client interactions and internal communications
  • A proactive attitude and desire for continuous growth

Qualifications

  • The ability and willingness to travel for work, including occasional overnight travel, client events, and on-site assignments
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to drive as needed for client meetings, events, and agency responsibilities
