Assistant Academic Administrator Middle School
This position is virtual and must reside within the state of Texas. Travel up to 20% of the time may be required for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and other school-related activities.

The Assistant Academic Administrator at Texas Virtual Academy of Hallsville (TVAH) directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities for high school students. This role ensures educational programs conform to state and local standards while supporting a predominantly virtual work environment.
The mission of TVAH is to provide an exemplary individualized and engaging educational experience through school and community/family partnerships, a rigorous curriculum, and a data-driven, student-centered instructional model.
Responsibilities
- Ensure conformance of educational programs to state and local school board standards through evaluation, development, and coordination.
- Research and implement non-K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards as needed.
- Articulate the school’s mission and vision to ensure all stakeholders share a common understanding.
- Utilize communication technologies to support a virtual/remote work environment.
- Ensure the school meets the needs of students while complying with local, state, and federal laws regarding special education and categorical programs (e.g., Title I, LAP, CTE).
- Interface with students, families, local Municipal Court systems, and districts regarding compliance with attendance and engagement policies.
- Develop and oversee implementation of the school’s Student Achievement Improvement Plan.
- Supervise and evaluate teaching staff, including managing performance and providing professional development.
- Manage Master and Lead Teachers and programs.
- Confer with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems.
- Coordinate with teachers and K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise 15-30 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) employees and/or contractors.
- Carry out supervisory duties including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, and addressing complaints.
Requirements
- Texas Principal certification.
- Master’s degree and five (5) years of educational experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and web tools.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time for meetings and professional development.
- Ability to clear a required background check.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as an online educator.
- Previous administrative experience.
