About the role

GSFO is in search of an Associate to support the rollout, execution, and ongoing optimization of advanced wealth planning capabilities for the firm’s most strategic UHNW clients and family office relationships. This individual will serve as a planning specialist and trusted partner to Private Wealth Advisors and other internal subject-matter experts. The Associate will assist with the development of complex, integrated financial analyses that help clients understand their consolidated net worth, liquidity needs, cash-flow outlook, wealth-transfer objectives, and key planning trade-offs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a wealth-planning resource for the firm’s most sophisticated client situations, including those involving substantial private-business interests, complex ownership structures, concentrated assets, private investments, leverage, philanthropy, and multigenerational wealth-transfer goals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, assisting advisors in building and maintaining complex, nested-entity balance sheets that consolidate assets, liabilities, ownership interests and cash flows.
  • Assist advisors in developing advanced, dynamic cash-flow models incorporating investment income, operating business distributions, liquidity events, capital calls and distributions, debt service, taxes, lifestyle spending, philanthropy, insurance, and planned wealth transfers.
  • Assist advisors in developing advanced tax-efficient wealth transfer analysis — including the optimization of irrevocable trusts, lifetime gifting programs, and pre-transaction planning.
  • Participate in client meetings to explain planning analyses, assumptions, scenarios, and trade-offs in a thoughtful and client-appropriate manner.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the most technically complex client situations and advisor requests; assisting advisors in building models while also advancing their own skills.
  • Identify recurring advisor needs and work with Product and Engineering to translate them into enhancements to tools, processes, data infrastructure, and reporting capabilities.
  • Train and mentor Private Wealth Advisors, analysts, associates, and planning professionals on the interpretation and application of advanced financial models.
