The Fixed Income and Liquidity Solutions team within Public Investing manages more than $1.7 trillion in assets for a variety of clients, including private wealth mandates and institutional clients such as insurance companies, pension funds, and endowments. The Securitized investment team, which oversees over $102 billion in Securitized assets globally (with over $40 billion in Agency MBS assets), is seeking a portfolio manager with deep experience in Agency Mortgages.
Responsibilities
- Generate new investment ideas through rigorous fundamental analysis across TBAs, specified pools, CMOs, and MBS derivatives.
- Work with portfolio managers and the cross-sector team to implement the Agency MBS investment process through regular research meetings, focusing on both top-down and bottom-up approaches.
- Coordinate trading activity across all Agency MBS products and account types, ensuring all relevant mandates abide by appropriate risk limits and investment guidelines.
- Manage projects with the technology and strategy teams to increase automation, improve data quality, and create new trading tools.
- Work with lead portfolio managers in developing and communicating market outlooks, recent investment decisions, and new products to current or prospective clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of experience in Agency MBS, either on the sell-side or buy-side.
- Significant experience as a risk taker with ownership of material investment decisions in the sector.
- Leadership experience as part of an investment or trading team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
- Curiosity, strong critical thinking skills, and a passion for problem-solving.
- Significant experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Pay
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125,000–$290,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
