About the role

The Asset Recovery Specialist plays a crucial role in managing delinquent loans and Visa accounts. They are responsible for taking inbound and outbound calls, processing accounts, researching collateral, communicating with members, and addressing financial challenges with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Taking inbound and making outbound phone calls to members who are past due on their loan or visa
  • Processing and handling accounts which have been put out to repossession
  • Performing research to locate collateral/payment and determine equities such as pulling county assessor, vehicle values, and calling references
  • Demonstrating cross-department communication and coordination
  • Reviewing members' loan contracts and answering any questions pertaining to their agreement
  • Consistently reviewing accounts for offsets according to department policy and federal regulations
  • Submitting insurance for members and handling any required payment adjustments
  • Addressing difficult or controversial issues with empathy and acceptance of responsibility

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED certificate
  • Experience in Asset Recovery or related industry preferred

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work
  • Professional communication, both written and verbal
  • Empathy towards the member's situation and understanding of financial impacts

Schedule

  • Must be available to work 35–40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  • Up to two alternate shifts per month from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Rotating Saturdays every 8 weeks from 9-1
  • Team meetings held at 8 am, two to three times throughout the month

Pay

The starting pay range is DOE ($23.42 - $35.12) with the potential to earn incentives. Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint range, based on applicable experience and qualifications.
