About the role
The Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for the enforcement and protection of all company interests and assets. Company assets are defined as merchandise, money, technical equipment, supplies, fixtures, store dwellings (owned or leased), our company personnel and our customers. All other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Post coverage – stock security
- Associate compliance and education (AP Awareness)
- Violation and Incident reporting
- Conducting of Audits / maintaining of proper records
- Managing of outsourced guards
- Determining Associate compliance in company Policy and Procedure with regard to proper Asset Protection guidelines
- Completing routine inspections of the facility to maintain physical security and protection of assets
- Completing required audits and inspections and providing accurate documentation of results
- Conducting safety inspections and communicating hazards to local management
- Ensuring physical security by controlling access of associates and visitors
- Enforcing Policy and Procedure
- Maintaining monthly touch base with APM and APA’s to review training and outstanding concerns
- Reporting any theft to APM and interacting with local law enforcement
- Daily review of cegid reports and reviewing with APM (negatives, voids, returns, quota items)
- Supervision of all off-site sales - Public and Employee
- Partnership with floor management in the absence of APM
- Review of safe logs
- Supervisory Responsibility
Requirements
- 1-3 years Asset Protection / Retail Experience preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 8 hr Pre Assignment and 16 hr OTJ certificates / Security License (mandatory in NYC only)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving and Decision-making skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods, and to move and handle merchandise, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above

Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $25.50 to $27.00. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
