Asset Protection Specialist

About the role

At Wegmans, our store security teams are committed to keeping our customers and employees safe. Our security specialists play a critical role helping to communicate between the Asset Protection team and the store leadership group. We’re seeking an independent individual who is task-oriented and can build strong relationships throughout the store while keeping customer service top of mind!

Earn a bonus up to $2,500.

Responsibilities

• Partner with management to implement asset protection strategies that drive sales and reduce shrink; analyze trends, benchmarks, and data
• Execute safety programs to ensure a safe, positive environment for customers and employees
• Build strong relationships with community organizations and emergency responders to enhance safety awareness
• Monitor customers, vendors, and employees to prevent loss; investigate and process shoplifting incidents
• Respond to emergencies and provide ongoing support and guidance to employees and customers

Requirements

• 2 or more years of related work experience
• Proven ability to effectively resolve problems and manage conflict
• Ability to use good judgment and make difficult decisions that affect the safety and well-being of others
• Ability to maintain effective communication and composure in a stressful environment
• Technical aptitude, including advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid driver's license

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related degree
• Military, security, loss prevention, corrections or asset protection experience
• Experience as a first responder and/or Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
• Leadership experience
