Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and Detection: Monitors access control, video surveillance, alarm, and threat intelligence platforms across assigned facilities; monitors severe weather, natural hazard, and civil disruption feeds for proximity to company facilities and personnel. Validates alarms and events, distinguishing actionable incidents from system faults and false activations, and evaluates unusual behavior through live and recorded video review. Identifies potential theft, fraud, and security concerns and refers cases for investigation.
  • Incident Response and Protective Action: Responds to critical incidents, medical emergencies, and severe weather events affecting company facilities and personnel. Initiates emergency response protocols and coordinates notifications during life-safety incidents in accordance with department procedures. Provides factual situational information to responding agencies and personnel on scene. Escalates incidents in accordance with established guidelines and required timeframes.
  • Operations and Documentation: Prepares accurate and timely incident reports and situational summaries for leadership. Preserves and exports video evidence in accordance with retention requirements. Completes a documented handover at the end of each shift and maintains post coverage until relieved. Reports camera, access control, and system failures, documents periods of degraded coverage, and maintains radio, telephone, and console discipline.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in a GSOC or SOC, emergency communications or dispatch environment (911/PSAP), alarm monitoring central station, military or law enforcement watch floor, emergency operations center, or corporate/retail asset protection role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to detect and evaluate unusual behavior and circumstances.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent incidents.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and demonstrated ability to learn access control, video management, mass notification, and incident management platforms.
  • Ability to work a fixed rotating shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to remain at post until properly relieved.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive video, access control, and personnel information.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise access control and video management platforms or comparable systems.
  • Familiarity with threat-intelligence and natural hazard monitoring platforms.
  • Emergency dispatch certification (APCO/EMD), CPR/AED and First Aid, or comparable credentials.
  • Progress toward, or completion of, a recognized security certification (e.g., ASIS PSP).
