Asset Protection Coordinator-2
About the role
The Asset Protection Coordinator is an hourly position that directly reports to the Market Asset Protection Manager. The mission of the Asset Protection team is to reduce shrink, maintain accurate inventory, comply with regulations, and ensure a safe and secure environment for employees and customers.
Responsibilities
- Assists in driving training and development for all Outfitters on shrink, safety, and security functions.
- Cascades Asset Protection directives and initiatives to store leadership and other Outfitters as needed.
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service during suspicious situations or when interacting with customers.
- Identifies root causes of shrink through cycle counts, trailer audits, and exception reporting.
- Reviews inventory adjustments and investigates discrepancies.
- Maintains physical security and merchandise protection standards.
- Makes sure all asset protection and security systems are functioning properly.
- Supports safety programs and participates in safety committees.
- Conducts investigations into criminal activity, policy violations, and workplace incidents.
- Ensures compliance with firearms protocols.
- Prepares detailed reports in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred Degree: Associate or Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field
- Certificates/Licenses: As required by local jurisdiction
- Experience: Previous experience in security, asset protection, and safety preferred or Retail inventory background
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience conducting criminal or internal investigations
- Experience using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.)
- Current AHA First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred
Travel Requirements
Travel is not an essential function of the job, but if requested, it would be less than 10%.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly performs computer work, walks, stands, and lifts up to 50lbs.
- Sits occasionally.
Independent Judgement
Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired results. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
Starting Pay Rate
$17.00 - $19.75 per hour
