About the Team

American Girl Retail provides lifetime memories to fans and their families through experiential retail stores. Our locations offer unique in-store experiences, including Girl and Doll Salons, full-service restaurants, personal shopping, ear piercing (for both girls and dolls), and hosting parties or celebrations. This role is dynamic and fast-paced, with opportunities to make decisions that impact both the team and customers.

About the Role

The Asset Protection Associate is based at the American Girl Retail Flagship location in Chicago and reports directly to the Retail Asset Protection Manager. This position ensures a safe environment for customers and employees while safeguarding company assets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment for customers and employees by monitoring and correcting safety concerns and guiding customer traffic as needed.
• Provide external and internal customer service in a positive, friendly, and professional manner, including diffusing escalated situations.
• Prevent loss of company assets through surveillance, conducting employee package and trash checks, and applying knowledge of civil and criminal laws related to retail security.
• Serve as a safety mentor for store employees, leading by example.

Requirements

• Availability to work evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• One to two years of experience in loss prevention, law enforcement, criminal justice, military, or security (preferred).
• State-specific license, if applicable.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse workforce and customer base, including children (preferred).
