About the role

Responsible for Loss Prevention activities related to the detection, apprehension, and processing of shoplifters. You will set an example of what it means to be an employee owner who makes excellent business-minded decisions aimed at controlling loss and helping the company protect profits. Assist store management in maintaining a safe environment for customers, vendors, and employees while providing professional presence to de-escalate situations. Support internal Loss Prevention staff in conducting investigations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate professionalism and excellent judgment in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Detect, apprehend, and process shoplifters in accordance with company policies and local laws/regulations.
• Contribute to the safe resolution of concerning situations within the store using verbal de-escalation techniques paired with professional presence.
• Prepare and submit reports involving investigations and Loss Prevention (LP) matters.
• Research and archive general liability incidents via C.C.T.V.
• Participate in internal company investigations and testify at legal/court proceedings on behalf of the company.
• Work with local, state, and government agencies regarding company matters.
• Participate in maintenance of loss prevention and safety programs, including conducting audits.
• Detect, investigate, and report hazardous workplace incidents and issues.
• Provide store support by promoting loss prevention and safety awareness, including training store staff.
• Maintain loss prevention office and equipment to established standards, including troubleshooting C.C.T.V. equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience recognizing criteria to determine shoplifting and demonstrating sound judgment in difficult situations.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a work setting.
• Strong documentation skills for work and customer service activities.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Consistently provide friendly and engaging customer service to internal and external customers.
• Perform at a high level with limited immediate supervision.
• Develop proficiency with WinCo’s C.C.T.V. equipment, locks, and door hardware.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform tasks efficiently with confidentiality, honesty, and integrity.
• Obtain State or Local certifications as required.
• Wear provided personal protective equipment such as gloves and protective vest.
• Travel daily within a defined geographic area to assigned locations.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Skills

• Operate office machines (computer terminal, copier/scanner, 10-key, fax machine, telephone).
• Use C.C.T.V., DVR, and digital camera equipment.

Pay

USD $20.65 - USD $26.11 per hour.
