Asset Inventory Technician

90-day contract opportunity in Logansport focused on hardware asset management and e-recycling. This is an entry-level to junior-level position and will be 100% onsite. Potential for the role to expand beyond the initial engagement.

Responsibilities

• Process and track approximately 600 devices.
• Remove memory and hard drives from equipment.
• Sort hardware into appropriate recycling/disposal containers.
• Document and inventory devices, especially assets containing PHI.
• Maintain accurate records in ServiceNow and Excel.

Requirements

• Basic Excel skills.
• Experience using or willingness to learn ServiceNow.
• Hardware handling experience (PCs, laptops, IT equipment).
• Strong attention to detail and inventory tracking abilities.
• Ability to perform hands-on physical work throughout the day.
• Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to 40-50 lbs.) and stand/walk for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Entry-level IT support technician background.
• Hardware deployment, desktop support, or asset management experience.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to follow PHI/data-handling procedures.
• Experience with IT asset disposition (ITAD), hardware refresh, asset recovery, or electronic recycling processes (preferred).
• Understanding of data security best practices related to device decommissioning and disposal.
• Experience scanning, tagging, labeling, and tracking assets in inventory management systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to maintain accuracy while handling high volumes of assets.
• Familiarity with asset lifecycle management concepts.
• Experience working in regulated environments (healthcare, financial services, government, etc.) is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of PC hardware components, including hard drives, SSDs, memory modules, desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripherals.

Logistics

• Location: Logansport, IN (100% onsite; no remote flexibility).
• Duration: Initial 90-day contract.
• Start Date: Early September preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
