Responsibilities
- Portfolio monitoring and addressing compliance and asset management issues during the underwriting and closing stage, throughout the compliance period, and through the disposition/exit stage of the New Market Tax Credit investments.
- Focus on NMTC projects for Baker Tilly clients to deliver required reviews, comments, and work product related to pre-closing and post-closing financial models and reviews of construction budgets/draws.
- Assess project and partnership risk factors in compliance with Section 45 provisions, allocation agreement requirements, and operating agreement conditions.
- Establish strong working relationships with investors, lenders, and financial partners and assist with the preparation and modification of annual community impact questionnaires.
- Mitigate risk by continuously assessing project and partnership risk factors as they pertain to compliance with Section 45 (NMTC) provisions, allocation agreement requirements and operating agreement conditions.
- Maintain database information integrity as it relates to compliance data, financial reporting, construction updates, and project information.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: 4-year degree, 1 year professional experience.
- PREFERRED Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in real estate finance, economics, business, accounting or a related field, 2 years of experience in asset/portfolio management or real estate finance, strong aptitude with information technology, proficient skills in word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, ability to adapt to new technology, strong financial analysis skills, ability to recognize financial issues through review of borrower financial statements, self-starter with drive and resourcefulness, ability to work in an evolving, team-oriented environment, excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
