Assessment of the environmental impact of circular bioengineering with a focus on the aquatic realm | Project PD 4.2
About the role
The Cluster of Excellence “Circular Bioengineering” aims at the design of bio-based materials that are sustainable, efficient, and waste-free. In Program 4 “Circular prospects” novel processes and materials are investigated in interdisciplinary collaborations connecting analytical chemistry, environmental sciences and social ecology. The project is part of the “Circular Bioengineering” Cluster of Excellence – Program 4, “Circular Prospects” – and maintains close ties with research groups working on the development of processes and bio-based materials as part of Program 1. Location: BOKU University, Institute of Analytical Chemistry, Vienna, Austria. Main supervisor: Univ. Prof. Stephan Hann; Co‑supervisor: Assoc.Prof. Dr. Teresa Steininger Mairinger, Univ.Prof. Dr. Gunda Koellensperger.
Responsibilities
- Investigation and assessment of potential environmental issues of circular bioengineering by exploiting and interpreting the analytical results generated in the program.
- Documentation of scientific results and presentations in the form of scientific publications, conference contributions and reports.
- Undertaking the responsibilities, duties and opportunities of a project staff member within the Cluster of Excellence “Circular Bioengineering”, including embedding in the CoE Circular Bioengineering and maintaining close ties with research groups in Program 1 working on processes and bio‑based materials.
