About the role

Another Chance is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Assessment Counselor to conduct comprehensive substance use assessments for individuals entering treatment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring clients are placed at the appropriate level of care based on clinical need and ASAM criteria.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments using ASAM criteria
• Determine appropriate level of care recommendations based on clinical findings
• Complete required documentation in a timely and accurate manner
• Provide clear recommendations for treatment planning and referrals
• Coordinate with internal clinical teams to ensure appropriate placement
• Communicate assessment outcomes to referral sources when applicable

Requirements

• Experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or human services preferred
• CADC or equivalent experience preferred but not required
• Strong clinical documentation skills
• Ability to conduct interviews and gather accurate client history
• Professional communication skills
