Hill Crest Behavioral Health is an acute care, 194-bed inpatient psychiatric facility located in Birmingham, AL, providing mental health services for adolescents and adults.
About the role
Responsible for suicide risk screening and assessments, and receiving Helpline referral calls. Obtains initial authorization from insurance companies, completes the admission process, communicates with the Business Office regarding financial issues, and collects intake data to be given to the Physician for disposition.

Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Behavioral/Social Sciences or active RN license in Alabama
- Effective leadership skills
- Ability to provide orientation and continuing education to co-workers
- Three years of experience in intake, psychiatric setting (outpatient or inpatient), and crisis intervention (preferred)
- Ability to establish rapport quickly via telephone or in person
- Computer literacy and excellent clerical skills
- Experience in insurance benefits verification and admission, pre-certification (preferred)
- Familiarity with medical and psychiatric terminology/psychotropic medications (preferred)
- Handle with Care and CPR certification (preferred)
