Assessing Trends and Variability in Terrestrial Ecosystem Photosynthesis
About the role
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
Responsibilities
The NPP fellow will have an opportunity to work with Dr. Parazoo and other scientists at JPL in the Earth Science Division and the Carbon Cycle and Ecosystems group (Drs. Charles Miller, Dave Schimel, Darren Drewry, Troy Magney), as well as Caltech (Christian Frankenberg, Philipp Kohler), to exploit an expanding set of multi-scale satellite (SCIAMACHY, GOSAT, GOME-2, OCO-2, TROPOMI), airborne (CARVE, ABoVE), and field (FluoNet, Ameriflux, PCN) vegetation, carbon and water cycle observations with state-of-the-art land and atmosphere models to investigate the response and feedback of seasonal phenology, gross and net CO2 exchange, and atmospheric CO2 to climate variability.
