Assembly Technician (Fuel/Nozzle Repair)
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Precision Technician specialized in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of Pratt & Whitney PT6 Series fuel nozzles. The role involves the complete "clean, test, and shroud" process to ensure proper fuel atomization and engine longevity in accordance with FAA and P&WC standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manual Compliance: Perform all work strictly according to Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM) and Engine Overhaul Manuals.
- Cleaning & De-carbonizing: Utilize ultrasonic cleaning and approved solvents to de-carbonize nozzle tips without damaging precision surfaces.
- Flow Testing: Operate PT6 fuel nozzle test stands to measure primary and secondary flow rates; ensure flow-matching within OEM tolerances.
- Pattern Inspection: Conduct visual inspections of spray cone angles for symmetry, streaking, or voids.
- Precision Rework: Use high-power microscopy to inspect orifice nibs and execute precision hand-lapping of mating surfaces to ensure leak-free seals.
- Final Assembly: Install O-rings and gaskets and perform safety/lock-wiring prior to return-to-service.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 0 to 2+ years of experience with PT6A, PT6B, or PT6C fuel nozzle maintenance.
- Tooling: Proficiency with vernier calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
- Compliance: Test IAW Pratt and Whitney O/H Manual.
- Knowledge: Understanding of "Hot Section" dynamics and Turbine Inlet Temperature (ITT) impacts.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Manufacturing/Shop Floor environment.
- Work Schedule: 4/10 shift.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones).
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
