About the Role

Mechanical assembly of aircraft interior products. Work includes sheet metal fabrication, and/or mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assembly. This position description outlines primary duties and qualifications but is not limited to the work identified; employees are expected to contribute wherever necessary to ensure success.

Responsibilities

  • Measures parts to determine specified tolerance
  • Drills, taps, reams, countersinks, and spot faces bolt holes in parts
  • Proficient in using most hand-operated tools
  • Follows written instructions, notes, and dimensions on drawings
  • Follows the redline process for drawing errors
  • Bolts, screws, and rivets parts together
  • Disassembles and replaces parts as required
  • Cleans and lubricates parts and assemblies
  • Marks identifying information on parts
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of proper riveting techniques
  • Modifies parts per drawings (e.g., cut, drill, radius)
  • Able to identify required dash numbers in a drawing structure
  • Performs soldering and crimping operations
  • Tests functional performance of assembly
  • Shares knowledge and techniques to help others progress

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of self-motivation
  • Basic knowledge of the use and maintenance of common shop tools
  • Employees are required to provide and maintain a basic set of personal hand tools necessary to perform essential job functions; all tools must be maintained in safe working condition
