Assembly Technician

Job Responsibilities

  • Proper utilization of all common, electrical, and carpentry shop tools
  • Assembly of electrical sheet metal enclosures
  • Computer literacy
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary or other assigned duties

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent OR relevant experience
  • At least 1 year of experience/familiarity with working in the electrical, mechanical, or assembly industry is required
  • Work well in a team environment. Add to the culture. We all help each other.
  • Proper utilization of all common electrical hand tools
  • Self-motivated and detail—oriented individual
  • Attention to detail because each wire matters
  • Neat and tidy in work done
  • Responsible for personal and area safety as well as general housekeeping
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Satisfactory completion of additional background screening (if applicable)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Preferred certifications (OSHA10, CPR)

Physical Requirements

  • Safety glasses and equipment for daily use
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn, and this can be obtained from the DVM Fastenal cabinet
  • Hand protection, either cut resistant gloves or Leather work gloves as appropriate
  • Hearing protection when required
  • Steel or Composite toe boots or shoes for daily use will be purchased by the Technician
  • Reimbursement may be requested for one pair once a year
  • Physical exertion may vary depending on position type. May be required to regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, frequently stand or walk around the work area, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs
  • Assembling may involve manipulating small parts and using hand tools
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential for this job
  • Comfortable with occasional repetitive motions
  • Must be able to follow instructions and stay alert to potential hazards on the shop floor
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities
