Assembly Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and prepare individual work orders to meet customer delivery schedules.
  • Wash, clean, and stage components as required prior to assembly.
  • Assemble and test standard manual and air-operated ball valves according to work instructions and engineering specifications.
  • Interpret assembly drawings, bills of materials, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Assemble, configure, and adjust air-actuated valve assemblies.
  • Operate parts washing equipment and maintain wash system cleanliness.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Consistently achieve established production, quality, and delivery standards.
  • Adhere to production schedules and assigned priorities.
  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
  • Meet department goals for productivity, utilization, scrap reduction, and rework prevention.
  • Enter required manufacturing information, including employee identification and job completion status, into the manufacturing tracking system.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the employee's skill level.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with industrial valves, actuators, pneumatic systems, or electromechanical assembly preferred.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and technical documentation preferred.
  • ERP system experience preferred.

  • Meet established productivity, utilization, and delivery goals.
  • Minimize scrap, rework, and assembly errors.
  • Maintain accurate production records and ERP transactions.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop technical expertise and progress through Class C, B, and A skill classifications.
