About the Role
We are looking to hire a Factory-Built Substation (FBS) Technician to work from our Port of Alexandria Facility in our Assembly Department. As part of a team, the FBS Technician assembles custom factory-built substations, including reading blueprints, erecting steel, assembling, and operating machinery. This role requires performing duties with speed and accuracy to produce a quality product and maintain a steady workflow.

Responsibilities
- Successfully apply simple hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
- Position and align parts to form complete structures, following blueprints and layout specifications, using machinery and hand tools.
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and common power tools.
- Move parts safely into position, manually or with hoists or cranes.
- Maintain warehouse property, including routine maintenance and grooming of grounds and facilities, and perform regular and preventative maintenance on all Company equipment and machinery.
- Attend safety meetings as requested or instructed.
- Operate all machinery and equipment, including the Company’s forklift, in a safe manner at all times.
- Promote company goals and maintain an excellent safety record.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read and understand measuring devices such as tape measures, rules, and combination squares required.
- Ability to perform simple shop math (add/subtract fractions, decimals, and whole numbers) required.
- Experience applying simple hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, etc. required.
- Experience working in a Warehouse or Manufacturing environment preferred.
