Assembly Technician

Starting at $19.00 per hour (with opportunity to earn more by cross-training).

About the role

Responsible for setting up and operating all compressor assembly stations. Majority of duties are associated with compressor assembly but could include compressor processing and final pack. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position reporting to the Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate powered industrial equipment
• Complete standard work documentation or reporting, including SPC process control if required
• Compile all daily forms and paperwork as needed
• Work within the lean BITZER BIPROS system
• Use SAP reporting for material transactions
• Work safely and effectively within a team environment
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required (e.g., sweeping, mopping, maintaining work areas)
• Perform various maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, and facility work
• Other duties as directed by management

Requirements

• Ability to be on your feet for 9.5 hours per day
• Ability to effectively meet and communicate with employees, the public, and vendors
• Mechanically and computer inclined (no machining experience needed)
• Good written communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collectively with others within the organization
• Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment

Qualifications

• Willingness to be trained on different stations on the assembly line
• Technical background or mechanical hobbies preferred but not required
• General knowledge of compressor technology preferred but not required
• General ability to work safely and effectively within a team manufacturing environment

This job is performed in a manufacturing environment.

• Regularly required to talk and hear
• Constantly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 30 or more pounds on a regular basis
