The Electrical Mechanical Soldering Technician at Fillauer is responsible for assembling, soldering, testing, and repairing electrical and electromechanical components and assemblies. This role requires strong soldering skills, the ability to read schematics and work instructions, and attention to detail to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Assembles products using manufacturing procedures along with mechanical drawings and bills of materials (BOM)
- Interprets technical documents, such as wiring diagrams, schematics, or other verbal or written instructions
- Ensures quality standards are met
- Verifies quality workmanship by following inspection and test procedures
- Identifies any defective items and handles them according to established quality procedures
- Solves manufacturing problems by communicating with peers or supervisor
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with company standards
- Uses basic hand tools, custom fixtures, ovens, heat guns and other light duty equipment
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Former experience or formal training in soldering
- Soldering certification (e.g. IPC-A-610, or IPC J-STD-001) is an asset
- Familiarity with assembly drawings and simple schematics
- Ability to use hand tools for mechanical assembly
Qualifications
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures
- Basic computer skills are an asset but are not required
