About the role

Manages all Quality Engineering functions for assigned program(s) or area(s) with some guidance. Acts as the point of contact for their program to inspectors. Has a general understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, and/or Nadcap requirements. Eliminates process variation and product defects through creative solutions. Works root cause, corrective action with some guidance using established RCCA tools (PFMEA, DMAIC, 5 WHYs, 8D, etc.). Supports regularly scheduled team meetings including Corrective Action Boards, Quality Engagement Council, etc. Processes all nonconformances and workflows in a timely manner. Takes on training opportunities as they arise. Solicits weekly prioritization of tasks and deliverables that align with business objectives. Mostly takes direction from cross-functional team members/leaders to execute support actions for the cross-functional team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in appropriate science, engineering, or engineering technology field with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production quality role, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years in a manufacturing or production quality role.
  • This position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A ‘U.S. Person,’ as defined by 22 C.F.R.120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization. If hired, you will be required to provide valid proof of such status.

Desired Qualifications

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Quality experience, including knowledge of ISO9000 or AS9100.
  • Positive attitude and leadership characteristics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • General understanding of GD&T for drawing review.
  • Ability to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds, experience, and education levels.
  • Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, CI methodologies, and process variation management tools to continuously improve processes (DMAIC).
  • Skilled in the application of statistical methods (e.g., hypothesis testing, ANOVA, design of experiments) to draw conclusions from raw data.
  • DFSS (Design For Six Sigma) experience in the design and development of new product introduction.
  • Working knowledge of PPAP and APQP (AS9145).

Skills

  • Excellent communicator.
  • Excellent computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, and statistical software tools).

Pay

Estimated salary range for this role: $63,600 to $93,000 per year. ST Engineering MRAS considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
