Assembly Production Manager

About the role

The Assembly Production Manager will lead, optimize, and scale assembly manufacturing operations, overseeing daily processes, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise to drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all assembly lines and shifts to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules are fully executed.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate supervisors and assembly technicians while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
• Identify and eliminate manufacturing bottlenecks using Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma tools to increase throughput and reduce cycle times.
• Partner with the Quality Assurance team to monitor defect rates, execute root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain strict adherence to OSHA guidelines, lead safety audits, and proactively eliminate physical hazards on the assembly floor.
• Manage shop floor budgets, labor costs, equipment utilization, and material workflows to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent manufacturing experience).
• 5+ years of leadership experience specifically within an assembly or high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Deep familiarity with manual, semi-automated, or fully automated assembly line configurations and material-handling systems.
• Proficient with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is highly preferred.
• Must be a US Citizen or lawful permanent resident (ITAR facility requirement).

Pay

Annual salary range: $120,000 - $160,000. Actual base pay will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills.
