About the role
The Assembly Operator I position involves hands-on assembly, labeling, and packaging of products according to quality standards. Responsibilities include working independently or as part of a team, adhering to safety and quality protocols, and reporting adverse conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package products according to Work Instructions.
- Select and move production materials as required.
- Maintain equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
- Meet established safety, quality, performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
- Record accurate information on Manufacturing Orders and perform necessary transactions to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
- Comply with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards.
- Report adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leaders in accordance to escalation procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Notify team leaders or other appropriate resources when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
- Demonstrate flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed.
- Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of manufacturing or production work experience.
- Bend, squat down, and reach above your head.
- Climb stairs and ladders.
- Lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet operational deadlines.
- Self-motivated.
- Identify and escalate non-conforming process, product, or environmental issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.
