Assembly IV - DFG/Pack Lead - (3rd Shift)
About the role
Apogee Architectural Metals is a segment of Apogee Enterprises, Inc., specializing in aluminum framing, windows, storefront, curtainwall, and entrance systems. We provide integrated capabilities, including design, engineering, extrusion, finishing, fabrication and assembly, across North America.
Responsibilities
The Assembly IV role requires mastery of all tools and equipment used in the assembly process, with key responsibilities including:
- Expertise in reading and interpreting highly complex and custom blueprints
- In-depth knowledge of assembly processes and techniques, including continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Process optimization, with a focus on efficiency and quality improvements
- Cross-training and support for all Assembly I, II, III, & IV roles
Qualifications
Required skills and qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience with significant expertise in the field
- Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures)
- Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.)
- Ability to follow blueprints
- Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
- Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry)

Work Environment
The position is based in a manufacturing facility, which may involve exposure to loud noises, varying temperatures, and dust from production processes. Employees will frequently work near or with machinery with moving parts, following strict safety protocols. The facility operates on shift schedules with potential for overtime, including weekends, based on production needs.
