Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assembles or fabricates mechanical parts, pieces, or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in a manufacturing organization.
- Reads, interprets, and follows basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Performs assembly work using hand-held tools and soldering equipment, and ensures the products meet quality standards, performing quality work checks.
- Keeps inventory of products in workstations maintained. Identifies product defects and completes appropriate documentation.
- Reworks or repairs assembled equipment and products, following engineering specification changes.
- Performs all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills to understand assembly instructions and measurements.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and part diagrams.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments.
Education/Experience
- HS Diploma
- Certificates/Licenses: None
Clearance Ability
- To obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to Top Secret.
- Minimum clearance level is DoD Interim Secret.
Working Conditions/Equipment
- Primary work performed in an office environment; must be flexible to work nights and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment as required.
- May occasionally be required to perform work in laboratory environments in accordance with established safety protocols.
- Ability to remain seated at a computer workstation for extended periods.
