Essential Functions
- Assembly of Machinery: Assemble and test mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment. Ensure that all machine components are correctly assembled according to technical specifications, blueprints, or schematics.
- Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Review detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions to ensure precise assembly and installation of machinery. Verify measurements and specifications to ensure all parts and components align.
- Fabricating and Installing Parts: Use hand tools, power tools, and machines to fabricate or modify parts and components for machine assembly. Perform tasks such as grinding, and machining when necessary.
- Testing and Calibration: Test machines and equipment after assembly to ensure functionality and safety standards are met. Calibrate machinery as needed, adjusting settings to ensure proper operation and performance.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in mechanical systems or machinery. Make repairs and adjustments to ensure proper machine performance.
- Quality Control and Inspection: Conduct regular inspections and tests on completed machinery to ensure it meets required standards and specifications. Identify any defects or issues and resolve them promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment. Ensure that all tools, equipment, and machines are in safe working condition.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure the assembly process meets project requirements. Communicate any potential delays, issues, or modifications to the team.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of parts, materials used, and work completed. Document assembly procedures and any modifications made to the original plans.
Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems and machine components. Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus to completion of task. Ability to complete tasks independently and meet productivity.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in assembly and testing is essential to ensure machines work properly.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and practices when working with machinery and tools.
Work Environment
- The employee frequently works with wiring and cabling.
- The work environment temperatures may fluctuate from hot to cold depending on the season.
- Depending on customer schedules, the department may prove to be at a very fast-paced.
- The noise level is moderate.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand while building the machine. The employees will be expected to use their hands to handle parts and tools and to climb and/or balance. The employee may need to walk to other Assembly Bays, reach with arms, bend, crouch, sit on the floor, kneel, climb, talk, and hear. The employee will often lift, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, overtime and Saturdays as needed.
