About the role
The primary responsibility of the Assembler I is assembling products in adherence to predetermined standards. This position involves the assembly of highly intricate components or equipment that demand strict tolerance thresholds. The Assembler I carefully reviews the assembly and production specifications to identify the required assembly, external product finish, and any specific options. The Assembler I assembles components by ensuring proper fitting of connections, fastening parts, and sub-assemblies per product specifications. This position also involves packaging, and palletizing components for shipment to customers.
Responsibilities
- Assembles assigned product parts in accordance with the Product Assembly Specifications (PAS) and safety regulations.
- Performs timely quality checks in the work area according to established standards.
- Utilizes high-quality measuring tools like go/no gauges and measuring tape for conducting quality inspections.
- Identifies problems with products, machinery, or processes and reports them to the supervisor or maintenance department for resolution.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality as the company holds significant trade secret information.
- Supports organizational goals and upholds the importance of continuous improvement.
- Performs minor rework as needed to precisely detail parts and components for correct assembly.
- Works in a manufacturing or distribution work setting frequently exposed to seasonal temperatures of excessive cold or heat.
- Frequently exposed to work environments with moderate to high noise levels.
- Physical demands include frequent stand, bend, stoop, reach, walk, sit, talk, and occasional lift up to 50 lbs.
Requirements
- Experience working in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment.
- Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with peers and leadership throughout the facility.
