Assembler II - Doors

About the role

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking an Assembler II - Doors to join our Richmond – P2 team. This position is part of the Dover Corporation, a diversified global manufacturer with over $7 billion in annual revenue.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively as part of a production team to manufacture and assemble high-quality Glass, Doors, Frames, and Subcomponents.
• Follow work orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet daily safety, quality, productivity, and delivery targets.
• Assemble or produce component parts into sub-assemblies, assemblies, and completed units according to assembly traveler/standard work instructions.
• Use hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools to perform tasks.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area by following 6-S principles.
• Perform minor adjustments or setups to equipment or machines under supervision.
• Inspect parts or completed units using visual inspection, gauges, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to lead persons or department supervisors.
• Follow SOPs and instructions from lead and supervisors for cross-training and assisting with production as needed.
• Perform a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 1-2 years of production assembly work experience
• Basic reading/writing skills
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals
• Good communication skills
• Understanding of 6S principles
• Ability to read and understand all job specifications
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for long periods of time
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced and complex environment
• Team-oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment
