Assembler / Fitter / Installer

About the role

The Assembler/Fitter/Installer will perform a wide variety of tasks in a large yacht manufacturing facility, including gunking, glassing, assembling, fitting, and installing.

Responsibilities

• Install Electrical Bilge, Deck, Dash, Finish, cabinets, floors, cockpits, benches, and any other assigned installation tasks.
• Install front-of-the-line interior work with emphasis on final finish elements and cosmetic aspects of the boat.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of boat building experience preferred.
• Fitting/Installing experience.
• Working knowledge of hand tools.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to read and understand prints and production schedules.
• Ability to work with suspended loads and heavy lifting.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must adapt to changing requirements in a positive and proactive way.
• Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels within the organization.
• Ability to work in a dusty and hot environment.
• Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and disposal.
• Flexibility to work extended hours to support business requirements.

Safety Requirements

• Desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately.
• Understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies.
• Able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves).
• Able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test, and physically wear a respirator where required.
• Able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, and spending working hours on your feet.
• Able to understand all safety-related documents, worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.

Pay

The anticipated pay range for this position is $20.60 to $25.05 per hour. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
