About the Role

The Assembler constructs, assembles, or rebuilds mechanical assemblies and equipment. This role involves interpreting specifications, operating and testing completed products, and ensuring conformance to customer requirements. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assemble Ballscrew & Actuator components to customer specifications.
• Operate and test completed products to verify functioning and conformance to customer specifications.
• Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.
• Read and interpret assembly blueprints, specifications manuals, and plan assembly or building operations.
• Remove rough spots and smooth surfaces to fit, trim, or clean parts using hand tools and power tools.
• Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies.
• Build and verify parts tolerances.
• Use measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Prepare components for painting, perform painting, and occasionally sandblast.
• Maintain a clean work area and environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• 2-3 years of precision assembly experience.
• Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.

• Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Quality Control Analysis: Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
• Operation Monitoring: Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machines are working properly (applicable for hydraulics).
• Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding corrective actions.
• Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and determining when additional maintenance is needed.
• Equipment Selection: Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed for a job.
• Information Ordering: Ability to arrange things or actions in a specific order or pattern according to rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, or mathematical operations).
• Control Precision: Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls to exact positions.
• Manual Dexterity: Ability to quickly move hands, hands with arms, or both to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
• Visualization: Ability to imagine how something will look after its parts are moved or rearranged.
• Written Comprehension: Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
• Finger Dexterity: Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of fingers to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
