About the Role

Assembles products under the supervision of the team leader while following routing instructions, drawings, and travel card steps. This role covers work tasks in various work centers that involve similar weight handling and routine tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Perform mechanical assembly following work instruction methods.
  • Use various hand-held equipment such as soldering irons, heat shrink guns, hand crimpers, wire cutters, and automatic crimpers.
  • Wind wire using automatic machine winders such as toroidal winders.
  • Glue, tape, and solder using small hand tools and various epoxies, glues, and solders.
  • Finish product using methods to clean parts: handheld blades, grinding wheels, removing excess epoxy.
  • Use alcohol to clean parts.
  • Encapsulate or varnish some product; may require use of a molding press.
  • Create labels and print documents referenced in the travel card instructions.
  • Perform electrical or mechanical tests on product using meters, calipers, micrometers, and a variety of gages, fixtures, and electrical test equipment.
  • Pack finished product, which may require the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, or carts.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the team leader.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow all prescribed personal protective equipment and safety regulations.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
  • Perform other manufacturing tasks outside the job description if the need arises.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read work instructions and proven experience in basic print reading.
  • Experience using electronic and mechanical testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Experience with calipers.

Skills

  • Ability to work within a team environment and multitask when required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
  • Bilingual and soldering experience a plus.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must occasionally crouch, stoop, or reach.
  • Ability to perform manual work on product with good dexterity and visual perception, with attention to detail repetitively throughout the day.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
