Join our team as an Assembler in our Accident, MD office, reporting to the Production Supervisor. You will produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies, ensuring quality output while following blueprints and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete assignments.
  • Read and decipher schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Position or align components and parts, manually or with hoists.
  • Use hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
  • Conduct quality control checks and document or discard defects.
  • Prepare work by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Position parts and subassemblies using templates or measurements.
  • Fit and assemble gears, sprockets, drive shafts, bearings, and other components.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions or notifying supervisor for additional resources.
  • Conserve materials by minimizing waste.
  • Maintain inventory of completed products.
  • Identify and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Follow safety regulations, including wearing protective gear (face coverings, glasses, gloves, safety shoes).
  • Maintain a safe and clean workstation.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional experience may substitute for education.
  • 2 years of assembly experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
  • Proficiency in math and working knowledge of safety protocols.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment.
  • Good mechanical assembly skills similar to a mechanic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal apprenticeship or vocational training as an assembler.
  • Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, and use office equipment.
  • Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds; assistance required for lifting 50+ pounds.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $17.62 – $22.02, determined based on work location, qualifications, and relevant experience.
