Assembler

About the Role

This position is responsible for assembling components used in the production of aircraft and other aerospace products. Duties include reading blueprints, following work instructions, and using hand and power tools to assemble components. The role requires extensive knowledge of assembly departments and the assemblies built, along with attention to detail and the ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions and blueprints to assemble components.
• Discern quality of parts and materials used through a 3-5 second inspection; notify leadership of any defects.
• Maintain lot integrity and quantities during the assembly process.
• Complete work order entries and time logs as required.
• Test and inspect assemblies as needed.
• Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace following Demgy’s 5S program (workstation organization).
• Train co-workers and assist with priority assemblies as needed.
• Adhere to company procedures, safety protocols, and attendance policies.
• Uphold Demgy’s Code of Ethics and Conduct, and contribute to environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records as required.
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Able to read and write English and perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Able to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints.
• Excellent manual dexterity and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Flexibility to work at different workstations and with various parts daily.
• Knowledge of aircraft parts and experience working with a variety of materials.
• Effective communication with leadership and team members.

Physical Requirements

• Standing up to 10 hours per day.
• Walking, sitting, hand-to-finger use, handling, gripping, and feeling objects or tools.
• Reaching with hands and arms, balancing, stooping, talking, and hearing.
• Occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required, including 20/20 vision.
