About the role
Assemblers follow specification sheets, drawings, and bills of materials to assemble and mount purchased components, piping, valving, tubing, and cable/wiring, with a focus on wiring.
Schedule: Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 am–2:30 pm (overtime as needed).
Responsibilities
- Lift motor/blower assemblies into position manually or with hoists.
- Assemble and install pilots.
- Screw pipe, install valves, and run tubing.
- Cut and install conduit, install chassis, and perform general to final wiring.
- Other duties as requested or required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in assembly with cutting and installing conduit, installing chassis, and general to final wiring within a manufacturing or fabrication shop (preferred).
- Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions in standardized situations.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, air tools, electrical tools, and computers.
- Proficiency in the four basic arithmetic operations.
- Ability to read specification sheets and drawings, write compound and complex sentences, and speak clearly with correct pronunciation.
- Must communicate effectively with co-workers 100% of the time.
- Ability to promote a safe and healthy work environment and pass required training/testing.
Skills
- Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus; and color identification/distinction 100% of the time.
- Must stand on level surfaces 100% of the time, walk 40% of the time, and bend/twist/stooop 20% of the time.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds of force 10% of the time; up to 20 pounds frequently; and up to 15 pounds regularly.
- Must reach with hands and arms and handle parts for assembly 85% of the time.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise levels, fumes, chemicals, and exposure to moving objects, heavy equipment, and cordless electrical tools.
- Building is heated in winter; summer temperatures exceed outside ambient temperatures.
