Assembler

Responsibilities

• Performs assembly operations by wire bonding, soldering, spot welding, staking, or epoxying.
• Performs assembly under a microscope.
• Hand solders pins, cables, components, sub‑assemblies, and completed units.
• Operates ultrasonic welding apparatus.
• Attaches various I.C.s, transistors, resistors, or thermistors to PC boards.
• Performs oil fill operations.
• Conducts tests for some final units.
• Performs life‑testing programs utilizing a computer.
• Provides training or instruction to co‑workers and other employees when needed.
• May operate turning‑center‑assisted TIG welding to specific programs established by Manufacturing Engineering.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• May rotate to other workstations in the unit.
• Meets or exceeds department targets set by supervisors/managers.
• Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience preferred.
• Soldering experience (or certification) preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to follow workplace safety standards and company policies and procedures.
• Ability to work in a team setting and contribute to a positive team spirit.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

Physical Demands

• Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for small parts.
• Work performed at a bench, with walking or standing for periods of time.
• Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; talking and hearing.
• Vision requirements: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 5 lb and up to 50 lb.

Compensation

Employee Type: Hourly

Salary Range: $30,000 – $45,000 USD (estimate; actual salary based on experience, skills, qualifications, market/business considerations, and geographic location).
