About the Role

The Production Assembler performs all tasks involved in the production of aluminum trailers, including measuring, cutting, and drilling aluminum, plywood, and skins. The role requires availability to work across all production areas and offers on-the-job training in shop print reading, light assembly, and aluminum welding. Work is comparable to residential and commercial carpentry or construction trades, requiring mechanical aptitude, hand-eye coordination, and the use of diverse shop equipment and cordless power tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble trailer components such as interior trim, fenders, wiring, and framing according to work orders.
• Balance productivity with quality and safety while following blueprints and work orders.
• Obtain raw materials from Material Handlers and cut materials per specifications.
• Notify supervisor of mechanical or material issues, including defects, damage, or deviations from work orders.
• Ensure finished products meet quality expectations and support continuous improvement.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, reduce scrap, return unused materials, and dispose of waste properly.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear protective equipment (PPE), and report accidents or near misses immediately.
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience working with a variety of power tools.
• Previous experience in manufacturing or construction is helpful but not required; on-the-job training provided.
• Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality or safety.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and accurate measuring/cutting skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and creative thinking.
• Ability to read blueprints and work orders accurately.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management and organizational skills.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Standing: up to 100% of the shift.
• Walking: up to 50% of the shift.
• Pushing and pulling: up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Lifting: 5-25 pounds constantly, 50 pounds frequently, 100 pounds occasionally (team lift).
• Bending: up to 30% of the shift.
• Climbing ladders: approximately 10% of the shift.
• Crouching: up to 40% of the shift.
• Kneeling: limited.
• Sight: ability to distinguish cut lines; above-average coordination (eye-hand, hand-foot, balance).
• Dexterity: normal hand and finger dexterity with average repetition.
• Endurance: average.
