Assembler roles (I, II, III) focus on manufacturing products efficiently while maintaining quality standards. Responsibilities vary by level, with increasing complexity, training duties, and problem-solving expectations.

Schedule

Tuesday–Friday, 3:15 PM–1:15 AM

Pay

$19.10/hour + $2.50 shift premium

Responsibilities

  • Validate materials and review work instructions before assembly.
  • Build products per specifications and within tolerances using work instructions, drawings, schematics, and electronic assembly equipment.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain cleanliness through housekeeping procedures.
  • Cross-train in multiple assembly areas and flex to other departments as needed.
  • Understand product impact on the business and continuously learn job-related principles, practices, and processes.
  • Participate in team meetings to exchange job-related information.
  • Assembler I: Resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors.
  • Assembler II:
    • Resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors based on complexity.
    • Train other employees.
    • Access ERP system information and contribute to process improvements.
  • Assembler III:
    • Lead problem-solving and implement countermeasures independently.
    • Frequently train new and current employees on work instructions/standard work.
    • Proficiently use ERP systems and perform transactions as needed.
    • Lead team meetings and solve problems within designated authority.
    • Participate in continuous improvement programs and address production concerns.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to equipment, designs, or processes (Assembler II/III).
  • Follow established procedures, policies, and safety standards.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Assembler I:
    • Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Assembler II:
    • High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1 year of complex assembly or related experience.
    • Internal candidates: Demonstrated Assembler II competency.
  • Assembler III:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 2 years of complex assembly or related experience.
    • Internal candidates: Demonstrated Assembler III competency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Assembler I:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Manufacturing experience, including knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Assembler II:
    • Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system.
  • Assembler III:
    • Experience in root cause problem-solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc.).
    • Experience training employees on work instructions/standard work.
    • Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics).

Skills

  • Assembler I:
    • Detail-oriented and organized.
    • Effective communication in a team environment.
    • Accountability for actions and commitments.
    • Ability to follow basic assembly procedures, interpret diagrams, and use hand tools.
    • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Assembler II:
    • Contributes to problem identification and countermeasure implementation.
    • Ability to follow standard procedures, interpret diagrams, and use advanced tooling.
    • Complex assembly skills.
    • Intermediate computer knowledge (e.g., electronic work instructions).
    • Understanding of basic machine operations.
  • Assembler III:
    • Consistently follows through on team commitments and demonstrates accountability.
    • Ability to follow advanced procedures, interpret diagrams, and use advanced tooling.
    • Problem-solving with minimal guidance.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, bend, or reach above shoulders.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 25–50 pounds.
  • Frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
