About the role
APAC Central Inc., a CRH company, is seeking motivated Crew Members to join a dynamic, safety-focused team producing crushed aggregate materials, sand, ready-mix concrete, and asphalt for regional heavy highway and infrastructure construction projects across Arkansas, Oklahoma, and southern Missouri.
Responsibilities
- Champion safety by adhering to all safety protocols, using correct tools and protective gear, and maintaining a secure work environment.
- Collaborate with managers and co-workers in a fast-paced, high-impact environment; communicate clearly and help maintain a positive team dynamic.
- Assist with shoveling, raking, wheelbarrow operation, signaling operators, and facilitating the movement of materials.
- Operate small power tools (e.g., jackhammer) and handle traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barricades.
- Lift, carry, and position construction materials, tools, and supplies safely and efficiently.
- Dig, spread, and level construction materials to prepare and maintain job sites.
- Proactively report any concerns or issues to management to keep projects running smoothly.
- Take on other duties as assigned, embracing new tasks and challenges with a can-do attitude.
Requirements
- Must thrive in safety-sensitive environments and strictly follow all protective procedures.
- Willingness to collaborate, assist, and support co-workers and supervisors in various duties.
- Willing and able to travel for work, including overnight stays, and to work night shifts, weekends, overtime, and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Display courtesy, respect, and professionalism to colleagues and the public.
- Arrive at work on time and prepared to take on daily challenges.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical, drug screening, and criminal background check.
- Able to provide valid I-9 documentation for employment eligibility.
- Complete safe driver training and maintain a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) with a good driving record that meets company standards.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) as outlined by OSHA/MSHA and company policies.
- Must be at least 18 years old due to the nature of the work environment.
Preferred Experience & Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in construction or paving is a plus; motivated individuals eager to learn are welcome.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
- Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 25–50 lbs as needed.
- Work primarily outdoors in extreme weather and environmental conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
- Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
