Asphalt Laborer

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of construction sites, including cleaning, grading, and layout.
• Load, unload, and transport asphalt and construction materials to and from the site.
• Spread, rake, and level asphalt to meet specifications using hand tools.
• Operate basic equipment such as rollers, tampers, and shovels as directed.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
• Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the foreman or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license (Class A CDL is highly desirable).
• Prior experience in the asphalt paving industry (highly preferred).
• A positive attitude and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience operating small machinery or hand tools, such as rakes, shovels, rollers, tampers, or paving machines.
• Familiarity with asphalt handling, paving techniques, and proper compaction practices.
• Previous work in physically demanding environments, such as lifting heavy materials, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and standing for long periods.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and extended hours when needed.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to safety.

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Monday–Friday with potential for overtime
• Night and weekend shifts as needed

Location

• Based in Boise, ID
• Projects throughout Idaho
• Travel required to and from job sites
