About the role

Lehman-Roberts, a Proud Tradition Since 1939, is a granite company that has been a part of the Memphis community for over 85 years. We specialize in the manufacturing and placement of quality hot mix asphalt and surface mining of aggregates from our sister company, Memphis Stone & Gravel.

Responsibilities

• Digs, spreads, and levels dirt and gravel, using pick and shovel.
• Lifts, carries, and holds materials, tools, and supplies.
• Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
• Mixes, pours, and spreads concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials, using handtools.
• Performs a variety of routine, non-machine tasks, such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with asphalt, and placing culvert sections in trench.

Requirements

On the job training required. Workers should be able to follow specific directions, perform a variety of duties, evaluate information using measurable standards, and physically lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.

Qualifications

A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. Physical requirements include standing or walking for long periods, using arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects, lifting and carrying materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds, climbing up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects, carrying tools and equipment, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and seeing (naturally or with correction).

Skills

Workers must be able to perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy; repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure; evaluate information using measurable standards.
