ASL Interpreter, Per Diem
About the role
HealthPartners and Regions Hospital is seeking an ASL Interpreter to provide interpreting services both in-person and for Video Visits. Interpreter must hold certification as outlined within the job description.
Responsibilities
- Provide interpreting services in a health care setting
- Help meet unique communication needs across the patient population, including experience in mental health interpreting as well as providing tactile, DeafBlind interpreting
- Work both independently and as part of a team, when needed
- Interpret for video visits and in the clinical setting as well as within the hospital
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED
- 4 years interpreting experience with at least 3 years medical interpreting experience
- Active certification through the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID): NIC, CI, CT, CSC, IC, TCOR
- National Association of the Deaf (NAD): Level IV/V (full complement of CEUs must be submitted to RID by October 1 during the last year of the 4-year cycle)
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of Nationally Accredited Interpreter Training Program
- Some general college preferred
