About the role
HealthPartners and Regions Hospital is seeking an ASL Interpreter to provide interpreting services both in-person and for Video Visits. Interpreter must hold certification as outlined within the job description.
Responsibilities
- Interpret in a health care setting, including mental health interpreting.
- Provide tactile, DeafBlind interpreting as needed.
- Work independently and as part of a team, when needed.
- Interpret in the clinical setting and within the hospital.
- May be asked to interpret for video visits, though in-person interpreting is the primary focus.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 4 years interpreting experience, with at least 3 years in medical interpreting.
- Active certification through the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID): NIC, CI, CT, CSC, IC, TCor.
- National Association of the Deaf (NAD): Level IV/V (full complement of CEUs must be submitted to RID by October 1 during the last year of the 4-year cycle).
Qualifications
- Completion of a Nationally Accredited Interpreter Training Program is preferred.
- Some general college education is preferred.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in ASL are required.
