About the role
The Michigan Surgical Utica is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join their team. The role offers a consistent, professional schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays.
Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Efficiently rooming patients, obtaining accurate vitals, and ensuring a high-quality patient experience.
- Clinical Preparation: Preparing patients and exam rooms for specialized procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and documentation are ready for the provider.
- Detail-Oriented Coordination: Managing patient flow in a busy office environment while ensuring medical records and clinical notes are accurate and complete.
- Professional Communication: Providing clear pre- and post-visit instructions and acting as a dependable resource for both patients and providers.
Requirements
- Education: Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate required.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a fast-paced medical office.
- Accuracy: A high degree of attention to detail and a "task-oriented" mindset.
- Professionalism: A strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm and efficient in a high-volume atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience (based on State regulation requirements).
- Experience: 6 months experience working within a physician’s office desired. Urology experience desired.
- Travel: Minimal travel required.
Skills
- Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR, Practice Management Solutions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Project Management.
- Vendor relations (for those MA’s that are required to order office and clinical supplies).
- Database management.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Delivers exceptional patient service throughout all interactions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
