About the role

The Michigan Surgical Utica is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join their team. The role offers a consistent, professional schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care: Efficiently rooming patients, obtaining accurate vitals, and ensuring a high-quality patient experience.
  • Clinical Preparation: Preparing patients and exam rooms for specialized procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and documentation are ready for the provider.
  • Detail-Oriented Coordination: Managing patient flow in a busy office environment while ensuring medical records and clinical notes are accurate and complete.
  • Professional Communication: Providing clear pre- and post-visit instructions and acting as a dependable resource for both patients and providers.

Requirements

  • Education: Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate required.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a fast-paced medical office.
  • Accuracy: A high degree of attention to detail and a "task-oriented" mindset.
  • Professionalism: A strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm and efficient in a high-volume atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience (based on State regulation requirements).
  • Experience: 6 months experience working within a physician’s office desired. Urology experience desired.
  • Travel: Minimal travel required.

Skills

  • Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR, Practice Management Solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Project Management.
  • Vendor relations (for those MA’s that are required to order office and clinical supplies).
  • Database management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Delivers exceptional patient service throughout all interactions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
